OptiPub Monthly Update - May 2024

By Kyle Renfrow - May 2024

This is your first OptiPub monthly update. Going forward we will be sharing platform updates monthly.

Our commitment to improving marketing automation and optimizing publishing never ends. We're constantly pushing updates, so I'm excited to share the cool stuff we continue to add to the platform.

Here's what's new:

Two Factor Authentication

With the growing online threat of credentials theft, simple password protection is not enough. We now allow administrators to enable two factor authentication by permission group. Once toggled on, any users within that group will be required to configure two factor on next login.

We highly encourage all users to enable two-factor now. OptiPub will soon force two-factor on any users with write permissions globally to protect our clients data. SMS isn't perfect as it is susceptible to SIM hijacking, but it's a huge step forward and adds a lot of protection with minimal inconvenience. Soon we will add support for more advanced two factor methods like hardware keys.

Tags

We have expanded the powerful tagging feature across our platform. You can now apply tags to messages, subscribers, and individual subscriptions. This functionality not only aids in better organization but also enhances the effectiveness of your automations. Utilize these tags to trigger specific workflows and finely segment your subscribers, making your marketing efforts more targeted and efficient.

Segments

Our dynamic segments have become even more robust with the addition of new query filters. You can now create segments based on:

  • Domain Match: Segment subscribers based on their email domain or set of domains.
  • Variable Match: Segment subscribers matching specific provided custom subscriber data values.
  • Interaction with Tagged Content: Segment subscribers who have opened or clicked on messages and/or auto-responders associated with specific tags.

As a reminder, we've also integrated suppression segment support. You can now use outside suppression files in MD5, SHA256 and SHA512 format as excluded segments.

Subscriber Dashboard Enhancements

The individual subscriber view has been improved with the following:

  • Segments: See which segments a subscriber currently belongs to.
  • Subscriber Variables: See available subscriber data to personalize and optimize your interactions.

That's all for now.

We have some huge updates coming next month with our new marketing campaign support, so keep an eye out for our next update!

Stay Optimizing,
Kyle
